Leadership Seminars
for
Hispanic School Board Members

HBLI presents Leadership Seminars for Latino School Board Members in Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas. These seminars are funded in part by the Ford Foundation and the W. K. Kellogg Foundation.

The school board leadership seminars are designed to promote discussion between experts (practitioners and university faculty) and local elected school board officials and to facilitate the networking of Latino school board members with experts and other board members. Support information is shared by way of a practical guidebook and the HBLI web page.

    Seminar topics include:

  1. Roles and responsibilities of individual school board members and the entire board
  2. Public financing and school budgets
  3. Superintendent/school board member relationships
  4. Working with state legislators and other elected officials
  5. Plus, topics designed to address state-specific issues

For detailed state-specific seminar information click on the state seminar to view seminar photos, access presentation handouts, participant/presenters directory, plus other information.
