It is important that if you feel that you may have prostate cancer that you go to your doctor and have tests done.

This is especially important for men who are:

  • Experiencing one or more of the symptoms described in the How Can I detect if I have Prostate Cancer? portion of this webpage.
  • After age 50, men should have an annual prostate exam once a year.
  • Men who have immediate family members, such as their father or brother, who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer should seek the advice of their doctor about when they should have a prostate exam.
