A general dentist is the most common title a dentist in the United States can be given. Once a general dentist, there are many programs of continuing education that the dentist can apply for and become. Some of the most common types dental specialists are Endodontists, Periodontists, Pedodontists, Orthodontists, and Oral Surgeons.
