The Importance of Good Dental Hygiene

Dental hygiene promotes general health and often forecasts both potential and unavoidable health-related problems. Today, more than 100 diseases and/or potential illnesses can first be detected by a dental exam. Therefore, dental visits may in fact result in benefits related to other aspects of health as well. By visiting a dentist regularly, health problems can be diagnosed early on and may possibly be treated without expensive or serious procedures.

Common health problems that can be detected by dental exams include:

Thyroid problems

Diabetes

Leukemia

Brain Tumors

Hardening of Arteries

Halitosis
