t or d + u spellings

These words don't actually contain the jod [j] in French, but they do pose a problem for speakers of English.  That's because in English, they do contain the [j] followed by a vowel, and thus, there is assimilation.  It's very tempting to carry over that assimilation into French.  Be careful here to produce the letter t as [t] and not as a ch-sound, and the letter d as [d].
