Policy

[horizontal rule]

Every freshman student–athlete is required to live in on-campus university housing administered through the Office of Residential Life.

Following completion of the freshman year, student–athletes are expected to live in on-campus housing.

Each student-athlete must report his or her residential address to his or her head coach and to the sport administrator at the start of the academic year. A change in the residential address to off-campus housing may not occur unless the Vice President for University Athletics has given written approval. The Vice President for University Athletics will not act on a request for off-campus housing until the request has first been reviewed and approved, in writing, by the student-athlete's head coach followed by review by the sport supervisor.

No student-athlete with remaining eligibility may reside in any property owned, leased, or managed by any ASU Athletics employee, any family member of the employee, or any representative of the university's athletics interests who has made a donation to SDA or the Sun Devil Club. This provision applies during the academic year as well as the summer break period. An exception will be recognized for a student-athlete to live with his or her parent or legal guardian. Questions about proposed housing arrangements should be brought to the Associate Athletic Director.
