Sonia Lassila was among the fourth and fifth-grade students participating in the Gateway to Mandarin and Culture class. Students, in the three-week course learned about the Mandarin language and culture through Chinese calligraphy, painting, music, paper folding, paper cutting, traditional dough arts, yo-yo, kung fu, dance, and arts and crafts.
