The capital of Spain offers a wide range of attractions, from
quaint medieval quarters to ultra-modern centers. It is rich
in museums and theatres, and exciting in its unique after-dark
entertainment life.
ALICANTE (DECEMBER 29, 2005 - JANUARY 13, 2006)
A charming, smaller city on the Mediterranean coast, Alicante
combines a rich cultural past with amenities of a modern resort.
Alicante is an ideal location from which to make day-trip
excursions to surrounding coastal villages.

Eligibility: |
This
program is open to students who have completed Introductory
Psychology and who desire to study, travel, and experience different
customs, foods, and ways of life. Proficiency in Spanish is
NOT a prerequisite. Applications with a $150 ($100 non-refundable)
deposit are due by September 30, 2005. Applications will be
accepted until November 22, 2005 and will be processed in order
of their receipt. Applications received after the deadline will
be considered on a space available basis.

Academic
Program: |
Classes
are held Mondays through Fridays in the morning. Normal enrollment
is for three hours of credit.

Living
Accommodations: |
In
Madrid, students stay in dormitory residences or hotels with
breakfast provided. In Alicante, students will stay in family
residences.

Cost: |
The
cost of $1,900 (subject to change) includes
housing, one meal per day, and organized cultural travel. Not
included: ASU tuition and fees, airfare to and from
Spain (about $800),
additional meals and incidentals (approx. $25 per day).
