Summary: The Arizona State University Summer Program in Jordan is designed to offer students the opportunity to experience the Arabic culture, history, and language while staying in the heart of the Arab World: Amman, Jordan.

Location: AMMAN, JORDAN
Amman is a modern city of long and impressive history that dates back to 9000 years ago.  With its Roman and Islamic ruins, it offers many sites of interest to the visitor like the citadel and the Roman theatre. The city’s modern buildings blend with those from ancient civilizations to give it a unique delightful ambiance. The streets are bordered with white stone buildings, traditional cafes, and bazaars, as well as modern boutiques and shopping centers.
Eligibility: This program is open to all students attending or not attending ASU who are interested in the Arabic language, culture, and traditions, and willing to adapt to a new cultural environment and adjust to different ways of life. Applications and a $275 non-refundable deposit are due on or before February 5, 2007. Applications received after this date will be considered on a space available basis.

Living
Accommodations:
Students will stay in a hotel in Amman (2 - 3 students per room), and will receive breakfast daily.
Cost: The cost of $1,875 (subject to possible change) includes: housing, breakfast, ISIC card, application fees, and at least two excursions. Not included: ASU Tuition and fees, airfare (approximately $1250 round-trip Phoenix-Amman), local transportation, other meals, books, visa fee (about $15), and personal expenses.
