Summary: Arizona State University offers a six-week combination of study and travel in China. The first three weeks is an intensive INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS PROGRAM in Beijing, and the second part is an educational CULTURAL EXCURSION through China.

Location:

INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS PROGRAM IN BEIJING
Beijing is the capital city of the People’s Republic of China and the Asian headquarters of many multinational corporations. In addition to studying international business in Beijing, students will tour the operations of several U.S. corporations doing business in Beijing. During weekends in Beijing, students will visit the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace, and the Great Wall, and many other significant and scenic sites.

CULTURAL EXCURSION IN CHINA
First, we will visit the ancient city of Louyang and the Shaolin Temple, then the site of the Qin terra cotta soldiers' tombs in Xian. After visiting our Phoenix Sister City, Chengdu, Buddhist Sacred Mountains Emei & Le Shan, and Dazu Grotto, we will arrive at Chongqing. From this wartime capital, we will sail through the gorges of Qutang, Wu, and Xiling where the scenery is magnificently beautiful and elegant. After traveling through the tri-cities of Wuhan, Nanjing, and Suzhou and visiting China's largest city, Shanghai, we will fly to Hong Kong, the “Pearl of the Orient” for a 4-day visit before returning home.

Eligibility: Eligibility is extended to the motivated student who is willing to be adventurous, meet the academic challenge, and experience different customs, foods and ways of life. Students from other universities in the U.S. are welcome to apply. Applications with a $250 non-refundable deposit (to be applied to the program fee) are due before February 1, 2006.

Academic
Program:
Students may take 5-7 credits during the program but they must enroll in at least 5 credits to participate. Students must have already taken GLB 301 and/or GLB 302 in order enroll in MGT 494.

Living
Accommodations:
Participants will be housed (double occupancy) in student residence halls at Renmin University in Beijing and in hotels (double occupancy) during the cultural excursion portion. One cafeteria meal per day is included while the group is at Renmin University.
Cost: The cost of $2500 (subject to possible change) includes 6 weeks program related excursion expenses in China, housing in PRC and Hong Kong, one meal a day at Renmin University, and visa and airport exit fees, as a group. Not included: ASU Tuition and fees, round trip airfare, medical insurance (required), ASU fees, ISIC card, extra meals, meals in Hong Kong, and personal and individual expenses.
