Brian Collier grew up in South Bend, Indiana, and is a graduate of Loyola University in Chicago and Colorado State University. He is currently pursuing a PhD in History, specifically American Indian history and race relations in the American West. He plans on writing his dissertation on St. Catherine Indian School in Santa Fe, New Mexico where he and his wife taught prior to going back to graduate school after the Indian school closed.

I enjoy working with student government because it is a chance for me to introduce really fantastic people to one another and to help put them in touch with the resources they need. It is also important that administrators and professors hear student voices as we are the only ones at the University who are asked to bring our checkbooks to the table when discussions happen. I feel strongly that no university decision should be made without strong student input, this is our university and everyone here should be working for us without feeling that they know what is best for us, but rather talking to us about ways to help us improve ourselves.

Brian Collier enjoys jogging, hiking, and discussions. He and his wife of seven years happily reside in Tempe where they are active members of the All Saints Catholic Newman Center community.
