Sir Crispin Tickell returns to ASU for sustainability lecture

Sir Crispin Tickell, chancellor of the University of Kent at Canterbury, returns to ASU’s Tempe Campus on Thursday, September 9, 2004, for a public lecture entitled “Sustainability: the Way Forward.”

This lecture is sponsored by the President’s Office of Sustainability Initiatives and the Consortium for Science, Policy & Outcomes. The lecture is free of charge, and all are welcome to attend.

Sir Crispin Tickell is chancellor of the University of Kent at Canterbury; director of the Green College Centre for Environmental Policy and Understanding, University of Oxford; chairman of the International Council of Scientific Unions’ Advisory Committee on the Environment; and chairman of the Board of Directors of the Climate Institute, in Washington, D.C.

There are five main things for us to think about: human population increase; degradation of land and accumulation of wastes; water pollution and supply; climate change; and destruction of biodiversity.
