About ASU English Education

The English Education Program is housed in the English Department of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. It works in cooperation with ASU's College of Education to prepare students to teach literacy classes in middle schools, high schools, and community colleges, i.e. grades 6 through 14. Available programs of study include an English Education Major and Minor, a Post-Bachelor's Teacher Certification Program, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction with a Specialty in English Education. Three full-time faculty members supervise the department's daily operations in the G. Homer Durham Language & Literature Building. They are sometimes assisted by doctoral students who help supervise student teachers and work in various Service Learning projects.
