It is vital that Latinas get educated on the importance of early prevention of breast cancer

If Latinas with breast cancer get treatment early, there is a greater chance that the cancer will not spread to other parts of the body

If detected early, breast cancer can be taken care of more easily with many different treatments

There are many ways to get the word out about screening and early prevention

-- Become part of a support group, that allows many women, including Latina women, to come together and learn together all there is to know about how to handle breast cancer. It is important to make women feel comfortable about talking about breast cancer.

-- Younger family members can help older members communicate about the effects of early detection

-- Make Latina women aware of options such as information programs and investigational medications
