2000 School Club Roundup Results
These are our official results for the 2000 School Club Roundup
Contest. Altogether, it was a rather impressive contest, operated entirely
outdoors in front of the Student Services Building. We faced setting up and
tearing down the equipment every day, almost as though we were operating Field
Day. The weather ranged from a comfortable sunny 75 degrees to a windy, rainy
50 degrees.
Much thanks goes to the members of the club. Special thanks goes to KC7EFP
for loaning us most of his radio equipment. Thanks also goes to KC7MOC and
KC7MOD for furnishing the computer, logging software, and other various
necessities. Also, thanks to KC7KFF for loaning us the R7 antenna. We
(literally) couldn't have operated without it. Finally, thanks goes to all
the club members who stopped by, operated, logged, and helped with the setup
and tear down of the week-long event!

KB7UCU and KC7MOC work the contest while KC7EFP plays with -- napkins?
Safety tip: Always run the extension cords in a low-traffic area.
Bright and early, while others are sleeping, KC7EFP attempts to work the "good DX".
KC7EFP scans the band, itching for the half-hour off time to pass. KB7UCU, after working the graveyard shift, eagerly takes the opportunity to catch a few winks.
KC7EFP and KB7UCU sit at the modest, field day-like station.
The main operating crew: KC7EFP, KC7MOC, KB7UCU, KC7MOD. KC7EFP, KC7MOC, and KC7MOD are all Barry Goldwater Scholarship recipients!
KC7EFP and KB7UCU smile as KC7MOC takes the mic. The things people will say to a YL!
"What the heck is wrong with this radio?" (KC7EFP, KC7MOC, and KB7UCU)
What a jumble of wires! Leave it to hams to be messy. (KC7EFP, KC7MOC, and KB7UCU)
The dedicated hams don't care what time it is, day or night. If 10m is open, they're operating! (KC7EFP, KC7MOC, KC7MOD, and KB7UCU)
"What the heck did she just tell that last guy?" KC7EFP becomes flustered with KC7MOC's operating techniques.
"It's gotta be the 'Caution: RF' sign. That's why no one comes over here to see what we're doing!" (KC7MOC and KC7EFP)
Hey! What's so amusing? Quit having such a good time and work the pile up faster! (KC7MOC and KC7EFP)
Look at the size of that microphone! (KC7MOC and KC7EFP)
"No, the object on the left is not a can of paint. It's a dummy load!" KC7MOC and KC7EFP respond to an actual question asked by a curious student.
"This really is a cool contest!" exclaims an excited KC7MOC.
