Beaver Tail Journal. The Beaver Tail Journal is a creative writing journal for Native American writers. The Beaver Tail Journal began as an idea in 1992, to create a publication mainly to promote and showcase creative writings by Native American writers. Native American Journalists Association. This group's mission is to serve and empower "Native communicators through programs and activities designed to enrich journalism and promote Native cultures. NAJA recognizes Native Americans as distinct peoples based on tradition, culture and protection of the earth. In this spirit, NAJA educates and unifies its membership through programs that promote diversity, and defends challenges to free press, speech, and expression on Native lands." UNITY: Journalists of Color. This group "is a strategic alliance of journalists of color acting as a force for positive change to advance their presence, growth and leadership in the fast-changing global news industry.
