We are now the American Indian Policy Institute Formerly known as the American Indian Policy & Leadership Developement Center, our Building name has also changed from the Agriculture Building to Discovery Hall.  Only the name, not the location!

The Institute

  • Examines current conditions and dynamics in tribal governance
  • Helps to resolve structural impediments affecting provision of services
  • Focuses on relationships between tribal, federal, state and local governments
  • Provides detailed, accurate and timely information to policy makers
The Institute is Community Based and Actively:
  • Collaborates with Indian Tribes and Communities on issues that affect them
  • Participates with Indian Tribes and Communities in identifying, prioritizing and managing projects undertaken with ASU
  • Empowers Indian Tribes and Communities through the provision of information, expertise and certifications
ASU Has:
  • An ideal location in Indian Country
  • The ability to gather a significant group of scholars and practitioners
