Additional Information
Location: Sydney, Australia is a vibrant, dynamic and very accessible city waiting to be explored. Bursting with character, the city caters to all cultural desires, highlighting the famous Opera House, Bondi and Bronte Beaches, to its unique blend of dining, shopping and recreation options in one of the world’s most attractive urban environments. The climate is mild, the surroundings are incredible - especially the Blue Mountains - making it the ideal educational encounter. Participants can choose to join the festivities at the Sydney harbour on New Year’s Eve, learn more about the history of the Aboriginal peoples, or immerse themselves in Australian arts and sports.
Eligibility: This program is open to all BIS students who have successfully completed BIS 301, BIS 302 and BIS 401, who desire to travel, study abroad and come in contact with different customs, foods, and ways of life. Students must submit a completed application with a $450 non-refundable deposit by September 15, 2006. Applications received after the deadline will be rejected if space is full. Alumni are welcome to join us.

Program:
This three-week program is designed to give participants a comprehensive overview of the general theme of globalization, with a particular focus on the Australian experience. Program includes classes, field trips, and excursions, with some free time for individual exploration.

Living
Accommodations:
Participants will be housed in 5-bedroom apartments (single rooms), on a bed and breakfast basis at Sydney University Village (SUV). Facilities at SUV include a cafeteria, bar, laundromat, computer center, reception and on-site security.
Cost: The Program fee of $2940 (subject to possible change) includes: housing, breakfast, a travel pass for use on all local buses and ferries, classroom space, computer use and one evening group meal. Not included: ASU tuition (3 credits), additional meals, and personal expenses. AIFS flights available for US $1540.
