ISAAC - Integrated System for ASU Access Control

Introduction

ISAAC is ASU's standard university-wide system for managing door access electronically. The system also can be used for managing video cameras used for security, and for maintaining an associated image database. ISAAC uses the Lenel OnGuard system and Lenel hardware.

Electronic access control offers several benefits over traditional key-based systems. These benefits include the ability to “remotely” disable access without having to physically retrieve the access device (card or key), the ability to track who entered an area and when, the ability to automatically lock and unlock doors on a pre-determined schedule, and the ability to generate alarms for a variety of access events. In addition, by adding secondary identifiers (PINs or biometrics) you can virtually guarantee only authorized users will be able to open a door or access an area.

Electronic access control is optional at ASU except in those areas with significant life/safety issues and/or elevated security concerns.

ISAAC - The ASU Electronic Access Control standard

All departments/colleges should use ISAAC to meet their electronic access control needs.

The Sun Card Office in conjunction with Facilities Management Lock Services coordinates and facilities use of ISAAC by ASU units.
