The first coach for the women's tennis team was J.L. Felton in
Arizona State Teachers College Women's Tennis Team, 1930s

1923. Women continued to compete in tennis but it was not until the 1950s under the direction of Ann Pittman, physical education instructor, that ASU women's tennis gained recognition.
