Species: Pogonomyrmex sp. RAJ-cusq (unpublished manuscript name; name not to be used)
Holotype worker: PERU: Cusco Region: Moray Valle Sagrado, 13º19.8'S 72º11.8'W, 3000 m, 2 May 2007 (Alain Lenoir, unnumbered). Paratypes, same data as holotypes: CPDC (1 worker), MCZC (1 worker), RAJC (1 worker), USNM (1 worker).
Etymology: The specific epithet, cusquena, is dreived from the type workers being collected in the Cusco Region of Peru.
