Policy

[horizontal rule]

Petitioning, distributing, and posting literature is not permitted in the Memorial Union (MU) and surrounding areas, including under the eaves, Power Parasol, shade structure, and within fifty feet of building entrances, patios, dining areas, and reservable space without an approved reservation.

To permit the free flow of traffic in and around the MU, those distributing authorized material are required to remain in assigned locations and may not circulate through other areas.

The MU offers poster cases, banner spaces, and LCD screen advertisements to groups to market their events and/or services; fees apply. No materials of any kind may be posted or set on walls, windows, doors, tables, restroom stalls, or any other unauthorized portion of the MU.

Printed material is accepted based on availability of space on a first-come first-serve basis and must be for university-sponsored events, university department services, or MU-affiliated business partners.

Individuals and groups posting or distributing approved material must follow directions from MU staff regarding interpretation and compliance with petitioning, distributing, and posting policies.
