Policy

[horizontal rule]

Departments may purchase reserved spaces when needed for the employee’s position responsibilities and pay the reserved space cost premium (only) from university local funds, after payment by the employee of the corresponding current lot or structure permit rate.

All reserved-space payments for a position below that of vice president need to be approved by a vice president or business administrator reporting to the vice president.

Requests for a reserved space to include an electric vehicle (EV) charger will be reviewed, granted on a case by case basis. All costs associated with a reserved EV charger installation, to include any electrical infrastructure needed to support, will be invoiced to the employee in addition to an annual electricity usage fee. The EV charger will revert back to ASU if the employee leaves employment or elects to no longer reserve the stall and pays to uninstall the charger.

Per FIN 401–03, when an employee is assigned to more than one campus, the department may purchase, subject to availability, the second permit from local funds. The employee must purchase the first permit for the campus that constitutes the employee’s primary location assignment.

Both the ASU department purchasing the permit and Parking and Transit Services are responsible for compliance with this policy.
