Department personnel are permitted to cannibalize capital equipment provided that permission is obtained for sponsor-owned equipment. University departments are responsible for preparing the Asset Cannibalization Authorization (ACA) form and submitting to CAM prior to cannibalizing equipment. Any remaining parts or items left over from the cannibalization must be sent to Surplus Property.

If equipment is sponsor owned, funded, or titled CAM should ensure that proper disposition has been obtained prior to cannibalizing
