The faculty athletics representative is an ASU faculty member appointed by the president to represent the institution and its faculty in the institution’s relations with the National Collegiate Athletic Association and the Pacific-12 Conference. The primary duties of the faculty athletics representative support the ethical practices of the athletics program. These duties include:

  1. certifying athletics eligibility
  2. investigating and processing rules violations
  3. facilitating student-athlete welfare by providing a place outside the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics where student-athletes can express concerns

    and

  4. preparing reports on the academic preparation, performance, and graduation rates of student-athletes.
