Faculty, staff, and students who discover or are involved in a chemical emergency
Faculty, staff, or students who discover or are involved in a hazardous chemical emergency are responsible for notifying the appropriate authorities and following established protocol. This protocol is outlined in the Arizona State University Emergency Procedures Flipchart, the Arizona State University Emergency Operations Manual, and the Arizona State University Chemical Hygiene Plan, a guidance document on the Environmental Health & Safety Web site.
The Arizona State University Emergency Procedures Flipchart must be posted conspicuously in areas that have the potential for chemical emergencies. Employees should be familiar with the location of the Flipchart, and with the appropriate protocol for responding to a chemical emergency.
