Departments and units that store, dispense, or use hazardous chemicals
Hazardous chemicals must be stored in appropriate and approved storage cabinets or rooms. Special storage facilities must be provided by individual departments for chemicals having unique hazardous characteristics, e.g., corrosive, flammable, temperature-sensitive, water-reactive, or explosive. The handling and storage of hazardous chemicals must be in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Chemical quantities must be monitored to ensure that the facility or storage area does not exceed allowable quantities.
