Students from Valley high schools traveled to the ASU Tempe Campus to attend the reading and lecture of award-winning author, Sonia Sanchez, whose visit was made possible through the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing’s Distinguished Visiting Writer Series. Students were introduced to Sanchez’s work prior to attending the reading through YWP residencies.
