SETA Field School, Fall 2006
Collaborative poem and poster created in Mr. Jones 5 th grade class at Phoenix Advantage Charter School during the SETA (Social Embeddedness Teaching Assistant) field School.
Fall 2006 marked the official launch of the Social Embeddedness Teaching Assistant (SETA) program. SETA is an exciting new teaching assistantship opportunity for the Creative Writing Program’s Masters of Fine Arts candidates in which graduate students are mentored and supported during YWP creative writing residencies in the community.
Through a partnership between ASU’s Young Writer’s Program and the Department of English’s renowned Creative Writing Program, each year three select graduate students are offered TA’s consisting of one composition class and two YWP creative writing residencies in the community per semester. Students participate in a YWP field school residency conducted by Sean Nevin and are then mentored and supported through his ENG 584 CW outreach class.
