About this Issue

This eighth annual issue of 22 Across: A Review of Young Writers contains a sampling of the fine work produced by the more than 1200 4th-12th grade students who participated in the various Young Writers Program residencies, programs, and partner programs during the 07-08 calendar year.

The Young Writers Program (YWP) places teaching artists in public schools, community-based organizations, and with other ASU programs that serve youth. As part of ASU’s Office of Youth Preparation (Education Partnerships), YWP seeks to engage in both University and community-based partnerships that will serve to increase learning opportunities for Arizona students and teachers while creating meaningful connections to higher education.
