Continuing Students

Students who have been previously admitted to Arizona State University and are continuing from the most recent semester.

Step 1 University admission is already established. Skip to step two.

New and Readmitting Students

Students who are attending Arizona State University for the first time or are continuing after more than one semester. They can be admitted as either a nondegree-seeking or degree-seeking student.

  *Nondegree-seeking Degree-seeking
A student who is not applying for a specified college degree. A student who is applying for a specified college degree.
Step 1

Request an application from the campus admission office where you are seeking your degree, or access application forms online.

To apply for Graduate Nondegree status, access the Graduate Nondegree Application.

Complete the required forms: application, residency and proof of MMR vaccination. Note: If you are only attending off-campus or online courses please request an MMR waiver.

Request your ACT, SAT or GRE scores as well as official transcripts to be sent to the appropriate admission office.

Step 2

Once you are notified you have been admitted to the university, you many register for your courses.

*Note nondegree limitations:
Undergraduate Nondegree Students: A total of 15 hours of completed nondegree work may be applied to a degree program. If you wish to pursue a bachelor's degree, you must apply for admission to a degree program through Undergraduate Admissions and meet the regular admission requirements.

Graduate Nondegree Students: You may enroll in a maximum of 15 hours in one semester. There is no limit to the total cumulative credit hours you can take. Up to nine nondegree graduate-level credit hours taken at ASU at the Tempe or Polytechnic campuses prior to admission to a degree program may be applied to master's degree requirements. Transfer credit (from other institutions and ASU at the West campus) must meet Graduate Council transfer policy guidelines in addition to receiving degree program and Graduate College approval. ASU at the West campus is a separately accredited institution and has a separate application process. Please contact the Graduate College or ASU at the West campus for information regarding their admission policies.

Students who are attending a professional, nonacademic-credit course.
