Computer Lab Usage Policies and Procedures
Please see our rates page and read our technical support policy.
The following guidelines and procedures have been established to provide the best use of the computer lab:
A computer lab assistant is present during lab hours.
Most software includes extensive online help.
Some software manuals are available for checkout in the lab.
ASU owns licenses for the following software applications in the Mercado at ASU computer labs:
  MS Word
  MS Excel
  MS PowerPoint
  MS Outlook
  MS Access
  Internet Explorer
Any additional software licensing is the responsibility of the lessee.

In order to maintain a clean and well-functioning facility, tobacco use, food, and drink are not allowed in the lab.

Currently, black and white printing is available at no cost. In order to keep printing costs down, please try to observe a limit of two copies of any printout.

This includes any printed materials that are substantially the same, including form letters and other materials that have only different addresses or other minor changes.
If you need more than two printouts, there is a copy machine available in the student lounge on the second floor of Building C.

There is a color scanner available on one of the computers. When you are done scanning, please move to another computer to do your other work so the scanner may be available for others.

Please be sure to save your files on your own media. The hard drives of the lab's computers are cleaned out on a regular basis. Any data files or any other unrecognized files will be deleted.

The computer lab may be used for instructional purposes as well as open lab so please keep talking and noise levels at a minimum.

Computers left unattended for more than 15 minutes will be made available to others.

Anyone found abusing the machines may be subject to immediate suspension of computing privileges and any appropriate sanctions. Actions viewed as computer abuse include:

  Illegal copying of copyrighted software
  Computer game playing (unless approved)
  Computer fraud
Use of computer resources for commercial purposes
Use of computer resources for social functions and events that are not related to ASU sponsored group, clubs, or individuals
Physical damage to computer hardware, computer software, or the facility
We also adhere to the ASU Computer, Internet and Electronic Communications Policy.
