How and when do I pay for my classes?
Your tuition, student services fee and health insurance are paid in person during or before registration day. You can pay using Visa, MasterCard, travelers’ checks or cash.

What should I bring with me when I come to register?
Bring your passport, visa, I-20, I-94 card, MMR vaccination record and method of payment.

When will I know my class level and schedule?
You will receive your class level and schedule at the AECP orientation after you have taken the placement test.

I know little or no English. Do I have to take the placement test?
No. You will be placed in the Basic 1 class.

How many students are in the AECP program and how many students are in each class?
There are usually about 200 students each cycle. The average class size is 15.

What does the student service fee cover?
This fee pays for all AECP activities, the AECP computer lab and use of all campus facilities, except the recreation center (recreation center membership cost is $25 per semester).

Are there dining facilities available on campus?
Yes, students can purchase a meal plan or buy meals individually. There are many cafeterias as well as popular and inexpensive restaurants on campus and within walking distance of the campus. Go to www.asucampusdining.com for information.

Are there any scholarships or financial aid available to study English at the AECP?
The AECP does not have any financial aid or scholarships available.

Can I study in the AECP with a tourist visa?
Yes, but you will be able to take only 18 hours of classes per week. Call AECP for up-to-date information.

Can I work while I’m taking classes at AECP?
F-1 students may work on campus a maximum of 20 hours per week.

I don’t have proof of my measles immunizations. What can I do?
You will need to get the vaccinations at the Student Health Center.

Can I take an ASU class while I’m an AECP student?
Yes. You must have completed the Intermediate 2 level with grades of “A” or “B” and have scored at least 475 on the TOEFL.

I want to live in an apartment or house off campus. Can I get information before I arrive?
Yes, you can go to the classified section of the ASU newspaper Web site www.asuwebdevil.com to find off-campus housing and/or roommates.

Can I fax my application and financial guarantee?
Yes. You can mail or fax your application and financial guarantee, or send them via e-mail as attached files. Go to Application Information for more.

I already have health insurance in my own country. Do I still need to buy ASU health insurance?
Yes. All students with F-1 visas are required to buy ASU health insurance unless sponsored by an embassy or approved international agency.

I want to send my application materials and money order for the application fee via express mail. They don’t deliver to a PO Box number. What is the street address of the AECP office?

How many countries are represented at AECP?
The yearly average is 60 different countries represented in the AECP.

Will I receive a certificate from AECP?
Yes. Students completing the Advanced 1 and 2 levels and the Business Program receive certificates. Students at any other level can also request a certificate.
