WCCFL 31

Arizona State University

8-10 February 2013

The 31st West Coast Conference on Formal Linguistics will be held on the second floor of the Memorial Union (Ventana Rooms) on the campus of Arizona State University from 8 to 10 February 2013. The plenary speakers will be Diana Archangeli, University of Arizona, Hilda Koopman, University of California-Los Angeles, and Lisa Matthewson, University of British Columbia. The website for the conference is www.asu.edu/wccfl31 and a link to an ASU map can be found at www.asu.edu/map/pdf/asu_map_tempe_2011.pdf.

Please look at the Preliminary Program and abstracts online. The final program will be available in paper form at the registration table but we will not be printing abstract booklets. Please bring 30-40 handouts if you are using handouts; there is a copy shop close to campus. For those of you using power point, there will be projectors but you will need your own computer or share one with speakers in your session! Bring connectors too if you use Macs.

Accomodation: We have reserved blocks of rooms in three hotels close to campus: Tempe Courtyard Marriott ($ 149; 480 966 2800), Twin Palms ($82 and tax; 480 967 9431), and the Ramada Inn ($59 and tax; 480 736 1700). The Twin Palms is the closest to the Memorial Union (5 minutes walking distance). Mention West Coast Conference on Formal Linguistics or WCFFL 31 to make the reservation. Make sure to reserve at least by early January because the rooms won't be held any longer than that. There is also a hostel in downtown Phoenix (in the Roosevelt Arts District) that will give 25% reduction with the code `ASU Conference':  phxhostel.org.

Parking. It is possible to park on campus; see map. On Friday, you will have to pay but parking is free on Saturday and Sunday.

Registration: We ask that you register by the 15th of January 2013 on this website: www.regonline.com/wccfl31. The fees are $110 (non-students) and $60 (students); (sorry we just had to change the price). You can pay us in person at the conference by check or cash. There will be a reception at Engrained in the Memorial Union on Friday and we will do a simple dinner at a local restaurant on Saturday night and will ask you to sign up for that before 15 January 2013 as well; again on www.regonline.com/wccfl31. The cost for the Saturday dinner will be $20.

Travel: The Phoenix Airport is called Sky Harbor and is only 10 minutes away from ASU by taxi (between $15 and $20). There is also a lightrail option and more information on how to use the lightrail can be found here.
