Faculty
The Featured Faculty Program was developed in an effort to recognize and celebrate the contributions of faculty in enhancing student learning outside the classroom. Co-Curricular Programs is seeking nominations of faculty who excel in a number of areas, such as community service, creative arts, mentoring and undergraduate research. One faculty will be selected per month for the months October - March. Faculty winners receive an honorarium, are featured in campus publications, and are highlighted in programs throughout the year.

Diane Wolfthal
School of Art
Professor Diane Wolfthal has been a part of the ASU faculty since
1995 in the School of Art. Professor Wolfthal’s student describes her
as, "an inspiration both in and outside the classroom. She has offered
me invaluable assistance with research advice, career counseling, mentoring,
and professional development… she is a true gem." In addition to being a mentor for
both graduate and undergraduate students for numerous independent
studies and thesis research courses, she has also taught a variety
of introductory, upper-level and seminar courses. When asked what she likes
the most about teaching Professor Wolfthal said, "I love teaching in a large
public university, where all kinds of people come together for
a common goal: the pursuit of knowledge. I enjoy teaching students to think
independently, critically, and, if possible, creatively. I enjoy showing
students the richness and complexity of our cultural past".
