Get a Transition Experience (GATE) this Summer!

Begin your college career with a five-week program designed to make your transition to college successful. The GATE Program provides a transition for incoming freshmen with disabilities by developing academic and career success and empowering student performance.

The GATE Program offers participants the opportunity to:
  • earn up to seven college credits
  • receive comprehensive individual and group tutoring by trained peer tutors
  • learn how to effectively utilize TRiO and Disability Resource Center services and
  • create personal relationships through social activities and residential life.

rogram Dates and Cost

The GATE Program is a five-week program that runs from July 6 through August 8, 2008. There is a $50.00 non-refundable registration fee upon acceptance, plus meal costs.

 
Eligibility

Student must be a U.S. citizen and accepted as a full-time freshman for Fall Semester 2008.Student must also be registered at Disability Resource Center and be accepted into the TRiO Student Support Services Program.

Application Process

Complete the following steps to be considered for the GATE Program.

  • Submit a completed and signed ASU admissions application to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Include an official high school transcript with your ACT or SAT scores.
  • Mail or fax a completed GATE Program application to TRiO Student Support Services. Include disability documentation with the application, if not on file with Disability Resource Center. Beginning April 1st, 2008, the Program will review completed applications and start selecting GATE students.
