What are the supported output types?
- The supported output types are True Color, Gray Scale, Black and white, 256 color and text. If the original contains just images then the best output types would be true color, 256 color or even gray scale depending upon the user’s requirements. In all these cases the document gets saved as a bitmap file.
- If the original contains just text, the best output type would be text in which case it gets saved as a text file.
- If the original contains text and images, true color, gray scale and 256 color are best options, as choosing text will result in the loss of the images.

Can the documents be used with Word? If the original contained both text and images, it can always be scanned as a bitmap by choosing the output type as true color. This can later on be imported into a word file. But saving directly onto a word file may not be possible with HP Scan Pro.
