The 42 yard line of Sun Devil stadium was the finish line for the fourth annual Pat’s Run April 19 as the first of more than 15,000 participants (runners and walkers) head to the end of the course. The event started adjacent to ASU's Sun Devil stadium, wound through Tempe and finished on the 42-yard line of the stadium.
The event ran 4.2 miles, representing the no. 42 Pat Tillman wore when he played for ASU.
The event honors the memory of former Sun Devil and Arizona Cardinals football player Pat Tillman, who left the world of professional athletics to serve his country in the U.S. Army. As a member of the Army Rangers, Tillman was killed in Afghanistan in 2004. The Pat Tillman Foundation was formed to carry forward his legacy by inspiring people to make positive changes in themselves and in the world around them.
