Lisa Love, the university’s director of athletics, and men’s basketball coach Herb Sendek told the students about ASU’s athletic traditions and asked for the student’s support. In 2007 – 2008, ASU had a record breaking year athletically, winning several national championships and national recognition for the athletic department as a whole. Student support of ASU’s teams played a huge role in that success.
