American Indian Newly Elected Officials

April 16-17, 2009

We invite you to participate in the American Indian Newly Elected Officials (AINEO) orientation program to be held on Thursday and Friday, April 16-17, 2009 at Phoenix Convention Center.

The American Indian Newly Elected Officials program is an opportunity for newly elected leaders, appointed officials and key staff to receive timely information regarding tribal governance, policy development and other issues – particularly given the current economic conditions and the political shifts that have created a new state of affairs in Indian Country. The program examines local, state, and federal relationships and serves as a forum for tribal leaders to exchange ideas, experiences, and strengthen tribal-to-tribal relationships.

The program will be practical and relevant, with presentations by current and/or former elected tribal leaders, former senior public administration officials and other community leaders. There will be ample time allocated for questions and interaction with presenters and staff. In addition, all participants will receive the ASU American Indian Officials Resource Guide containing valuable reference and resource materials.

Space in the program is limited.

The cost of registration is $150 per participant, which includes all meals and materials.
