Praxis Series, Paper-Based

Information
The Praxis series is a program that provides tests for states to use as part of their teacher certification process. These assessments are also used by colleges and universities to qualify individuals for entry into teacher education programs. Praxis bulletins are available for pickup in our office or visit www.ets.org/praxis for more information.

Cost
There is a nonrefundable registration fee of $40.00 for each exam. Test fees are as follows:
  • PPST test, $35.00 each
  • One-hour, multiple-choice, Subject/Specialty Area tests, $60.00 each
  • One-hour, constructed-response, Subject/Specialty Area tests, $75.00 each
  • One-hour, combined multiple-choice and constructed-response, $75.00 each
  • Two-hour, multiple-choice, Subject/Specialty Area tests, $75.00 each
  • Two-hour, constructed-response,Subject/Specialty Area tests, $90.00 each
  • Two-hour, combined multiple-choice and constructed-response, $85.00 each
  • Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT), $85.00 each
  • Teaching Foundations Tests (SB57), $115.00 each
Time
Appointment and test times vary depending on which Praxis series exam you wish to take. Detailed information about test length can be found in the Praxis bulletin.
Register
You can register online at www.ets.org/praxis. You can also register through the mail by filling out the registration form in the Praxis bulletin. If you have taken a Praxis series test previously, you can reregister by phone at 1-800-772-9476.
Reschedule
If you wish to add or change a test or to change your test center or test date, download the request form at www.ets.org/praxis.
Retake
ETS does not limit the number of times you can repeat a test; some states, associations, and institutions, however, may limit the number of times you can retest.
Admission
Walk-in testing is permitted, however availability is not guaranteed. The candidate must complete the registration form and arrive 30 minutes before the test reporting time. There is an additional $65.00 walk-in fee for each test.
