Nurse Entrance Test (NET)
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
UTSS has moved to 1130 E University Dr, Suite 204 in Tempe. Parking is available for the time you are visiting University Testing and Scanning Services.
- Information
- The Nurse Entrance Test (NET) evaluates areas that are essential for academic success in nursing
programs including basic math skills, science reading comprehension, and learning styles. Questions
regarding admission requirements, scoring or retesting should be addressed to the
College of Nursing and Healthcare Innovation.
- Special Accommodations
- To receive disability accommodations you must be registered with the
ASU Disability Resource Center
and be approved for special accommodations. Please do not register for a group testing time. Individual
testing arrangements must be made with the Program Coordinator at University Testing and Scanning Services.
- Schedule

- Cost
- The NET costs $45.00 and must be paid with a check or money order made payable to Arizona State
University.
- Time
- The exam consists of a multiple-choice test in mathematics and
reading. Candidates should allow
up to 3 hours for the total appointment time.
- Register
- NET testing dates for this application period start October 5, 2009 and end on January 14, 2009. To be able to retake the exam applicants must complete the first test by December 14, 2009. Seating is limited for each testing session and spaces usually fill up quickly towards the end of the testing cycle. We highly recommend early registration and testing so that you will be able to retake the test, if you wish to do so.
- In Person: Complete the NET registration
form (PDF, 248KB) and submit it along with payment to a Testing and Scanning Services staff member in 1130 E. University Dr., Suite 204, Tempe. At that time
you will be given an admission ticket.
- By Mail: Complete the NET registration form
(PDF, 248KB) and submit it along with a check or money order payable to Arizona State University
and a self-addressed, stamped envelope to:

- Your 10-digit ASU affiliate ID is required on the registration form. UTSS will not process your registration form without
it. UTSS must receive your registration and payment no later than 4:30 pm, one working day before your
requested test date.
- It is your responsibility
to
confirm your appointment if you have not received your confirmation by return mail.
- Reschedule
- You must cancel or reschedule your computer-based exam no later than
7 days after your original test date.
- To transfer your test date, submit your admission ticket along with a $10.00 check or money order
payable to Arizona State University.
- To cancel a test date and receive a 50% refund, you must fill out a
refund request form (PDF, 52KB).
- Retake
- If your scores on the math and/or reading section of the NET do not meet the minimum required, you may
retest only once. Your retest date must be no less than 30 days after your first test date. However, if
your Reading Comprehension score is .60 or higher and your Math score is .65 or higher, you may not
retest for a higher score.
- Admission
- Exam entrance requires an admission ticket along with valid photo ID. The
name on your photo ID must match the name on your admission ticket. YOU
MUST CHECK IN AT LEAST 15 MINUTES BEFORE TEST TIME TO BE ADMITTED. You must also know or have with you your 10-digit ASU affiliate ID number to take the test.
- Scores
- You will receive a copy of your test scores at the end of your testing period.
- Parking
- Parking is available for the time you are visiting University Testing and Scanning Services. You must arrive 15 minutes early to
sign in prior to the scheduled test time. Late arrivals may not be seated.
