Institutional TOEFL® (Test of English as a Foreign Language)

Information

The Institutional Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL®) is used to evaluate the English profiency of people whose native language is not English. Institutional TOEFL® scores are ONLY valid at Arizona State University and cannot be forwarded to any other college or university and no transcript service is available for this exam.

Schedule

Registration opens for each exam session two weeks before the scheduled exam date (NO EXCEPTIONS)

May 2, 2012, 8:30 AM (Registration begins April 19, 2012)
May 16, 2012, 8:30 AM (Registration begins May 3, 2012)
June 6, 2012, 8:30 AM (Registration begins May 23, 2012)
June 20, 2012, 8:30 AM (Registration begins June 7, 2012)

 

Cost

The Institutional TOEFL costs $60.00 and must be paid at the time of registration with a check or money order made payable to Arizona State University.

Register

Registration is limited to current AECP and ASU students. Registration begins 2-weeks before each test date and ends 6-days before the test date at 5:00 PM or when all seats have been reserved, whichever comes first. Seating is limited to 20 seats for each testing session and spaces usually fill quickly. We highly recommend early registration so that you will be assured of a seat. PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST WAIT 30 DAYS BETWEEN EXAM SESSIONS. Registration must be completed IN PERSON at University Testing & Scanning Services, 1130 E University Drive, Suite 204, Tempe, AZ 85281 (University Drive between Rural and McClintock).

During registration you must provide the following:

  • ASU affiliate ID
  • $60 registration fee (check or money order ONLY)
  • Select a score recipient (ASU Undergraduate Admissions, ASU Graduate Admissions, or No Score Recipient)

All registrations are final. Students cannot receive refunds, transfer the test fee to another test date or tuittion payment or give/sell an Institutional TOEFL seat to another student.

Retake

You must wait at least 30 days between exam dates to retake the Institutional TOEFL exam.

Admission to Exam

Exam entrance requires an admission ticket along with valid passport. The name on your passport must match the name on your admission ticket. YOU MUST CHECK IN AT LEAST 30 MINUTES BEFORE TEST TIME TO BE ADMITTED. You must also know or have with you your 10-digit ASU affiliate ID number.
