ASU Parents Association Teaching Professor
George Bohlander

Professor of Management
College of Business

George Bohlander has been a professor in the College of Business at ASU since 1977. The impact he has made on both students and colleagues is evidenced in the high praises he receives from both.

"George Bohlander is an innovative teacher, constantly searching for better ways to teach," said Larry Penley, Dean of the College of Business. "I believe that he exemplifies service to undergraduate students, institution, community and profession."

Bohlander has taught courses in Labor Relations and Public Policy, EmployeeManagement Relations, Human Resources Management, and most recently a course he developed in Teams Management, an interactive business management course. Throughout his tenure here, he has made a sustained effort to exemplify the meaning of teamwork by being available to his students.

"Professor Bohlander has a unique ability to communicate information clearly and concisely without intimidating his students," said Kola Bliss, senior management major. " He has always been readily available and anxious to help."

Bohlander called this award "a tremendous honor and an extremely fine recognition of my teaching efforts. It is absolutely the highlight of my career to receive this award for teaching excellence."

As the second recipient of the biannual Professorship award, Bohlander will receive a $5,000 stipend for each of the two years and a $10,000 salary allowance for a student assistant. He has arranged to establish an endowment with the latter which will fund an annual Parents Association-Department of Management Scholarship.
