Current Total:
Last year, ASU students, faculty, staff and retirees, along with ASU Foundation staff, contributed $788,896 to the United Way to help provide the health and human services needed in the rapidly expanding Phoenix metropolitan area. This amount exceeded ASU’s total contribution in 2006 by more than $75,000.
Examples of how your generosity has helped to change the lives of others include:
I congratulate and thank the many giving individuals who joined in this effort to help both the Valley of the Sun United Way and the Mesa United Way reach their goals. I am also very proud of the leadership and generosity shown by our ASU community and the excellent manner in which your participation exemplifies the concept of social embeddedness – a tenet central to the ongoing advancement and success of our university. Your engagement in more than 1,000 outreach activities and your personal financial investment further underscores the impressive commitment that has been put forth.
Indeed, we have pulled together to achieve a great deal, but our communities are in need of more help. In response, our goal for the 2008 campaign has been set at $827,780 – a sizeable challenge, but one that I am confident we can meet.
It is my hope that our university community can join together again to meet its charitable goal and, far more importantly, to build better lives for all Arizonans.
Thank you for investing in our future.
Sincerely,

Michael Crow
President, ASU
