The School of Sustainability, the first of its kind in the country, has already started to make connections between the environmental issues facing us and the value that entrepreneurial ideas can bring to solve those problems.
Within the Certificate in Sustainable Technology and Management, the School requires a Capstone Project which will have students work on faculty selected projects solving complex engineering-management projects for sustainability and technologies. This will include detailed business plans, technical evaluations and recommendations, comparative analysis of options and a presentation to the faculty, advisory committee and invited members of the community.
Additionally, Introduction to Sustainability and Organizational Strategies (SOS 598 / IEE 598) focuses on introduction of sustainable technology management and strategies that can be used to incorporate the development and deployment of sustainable technologies. Both instructors and students will be making presentations. Topics include: regulatory frameworks, globalization, urbanization, life cycle, sustainable technologies, organizational strategies, resources, supply chain and entrepreneurship.
