Emergency Eyewash/Shower Testing Program

The emergency eyewashes/showers on Arizona State University (ASU) Tempe Main campus, West campus, and Polytechnic campus are currently being inventoried and tested per recommendations published by the American National Standards Institute, Inc. (ANSI).

All showers and eyewashes/showers should be tested at a minimum annually. Emergency eyewashes must have a minimum uninterrupted flushing fluid supply of 0.4 gallons per minute (gpm) and emergency showers must have a minimum uninterrupted flushing fluid supply of 20 gpm.

Equipment that is outdated or does not meet the recommendation published ANSI is in the process of being replaced.
