    James Hughes, a presenter at last year's workshop entitled "Transhumanism and the Concept of Human Nature", recently published an article based on his presentation at ASU in the Metanexus journal the Global Spiral. The article continues Hughe's attempt to explore potential relationships between transhumanism, human enhancement technology, and mainstream religion. The article can be accessed here.>>
     
samuelson2   Hava Tirosh Samuelson recently delivered a presentation on "Human Embodiment and Dignified Death: A Critique of Transhumanism" at a conference on "Extending Life: Setting the Agenda for the Ethics of Aging, Death, and Immortality" hosted by The Center for Bioethics and Human Dignity on March 6-8.   Transhumanism and Religion Consultation: Call for Papers
The Transhumanism and Religion consultation welcomes papers for its November 1-3 meeting on any aspect of transhumanism and religion.  We particularly welcome papers that identify and critically evaluate the implicit religious beliefs underlying key transhumanist claims and assumptions.  We welcome critical and constructive assessments of this envisioned future.

Leda Cosmides launched the Templeton Research Lectures on October 10, 2006. Over 300 people attended the provocative lecture on the topic of "Are We Already Transhuman?
