J. Russell and Bonita Nelson Fine Arts Center

From the muted, desert-influenced color of the exterior to the atypical, open spaces of the interior, the Nelson Fine Arts Center attracts attention not only for its unique beauty but for the breadth of quality performances and art collections found at the center.

Make plans to attend a performance at the 500-seat Galvin Playhouse, or visit the ASU Art Museum, which houses American, Latin American, Crafts, Contemporary, Prints and many other collections.

Built in 1989, the center honors J. Russell Nelson, ASU president from 1981-1989, and his wife, Bonita. The design, by architect Antoine Predock, won the 1989 American Institute of Architects Honor Award.
