Arizona Biomedical Collaborative

The Arizona Biomedical Collaborative building is designed to reduce its urban heat island effect through the use of high reflective paving and special roofing materials, recycled and regionally-produced construction materials, water use reduction of 40 percent, use of native and adaptive plants to reduce irrigation water by 63 percent, energy conservation measures and 86 percent of construction waste diverted from landfills. The Arizona Biomedical Collaborative building has been submitted for certification through the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™.
